Manager – Level 4
Early Years Safeguarding Lead
Tracey co-opened St. Philip & St. James Playgroup with Sue in 2007 after spending several years as a childminder. She loves taking the children into the garden, where they can develop their large motor skills through outdoor play. Tracey also enjoys cooking with the children and helping to put on the Christmas show each year. Most of all, she loves watching children grow from toddlers into confident little personalities, ready for school. Tracey enjoys building lasting relationships with our families and loves keeping in touch as the years go by.

Manager – Level 4
Health & Safety Officer
Sue has worked with children since 2000. After meeting Tracey as fellow childminders in 2002 and sharing the dream of running their own playgroup, they went on to open St. Philip & St. James Playgroup together in 2007. Sue is incredibly creative and loves organising our Christmas and Leavers' parties, decorating the hall, and planning exciting activities for the children to enjoy. After many years working directly with the children, Sue now enjoys a more behind-the-scenes role, taking care of the business side of the playgroup.
You'll often find me... creating wonderful celebrations.
SENCO – Level 3
Clare joined the playgroup in September 2007 after working as a Teaching Assistant at Heatherside School. She is very artistic and enjoys creating fun art projects and cooking with the children. As our SENCO, Clare builds strong relationships with families, supporting them by helping to access outside agencies, completing paperwork, and always being a kind and understanding listener.

Lisa has been part of the team since Sue and Tracey opened the playgroup in 2007. She has loved getting to know generations of children and their families over the years. Lisa particularly enjoys encouraging creativity through arts and crafts, creating colourful displays, and spending time gardening with the children, always building learning experiences around each child's individual interests.

Hannah joined the playgroup in 2020 and completed her apprenticeship, gaining her Level 3 qualification in 2022. She particularly enjoys reading stories to the children and playing their favourite songs, encouraging everyone to sing, dance and have fun together. Hannah is passionate about supporting children's learning through imagination, creativity and play.

Key Person – Level 3
Sarah has worked in childcare since 2010, rejoining us in 2025. She loves helping children learn, grow and develop, and enjoys watching their confidence blossom through play and exploration. She is especially passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), inspired by her own experiences as the parent of an autistic child. This has given her a deeper understanding of the importance of patience, inclusion, and celebrating every child's unique strengths.
